‘Paleo’ organic hot chocolate, cacao & vanilla

One of my favourite things in the world is flavoured hot chocolate, which I’ve also found can be deliciously medicinal…

Made with purely organic ingredients, the perfect ratio of cacao to cocoa, a fine balance of health enhancing flavours & a generous pinch of vanilla, these herbal hot chocolates are ready to be added to heated milk with a splash of maple syrup for a smug mug of delectable goodness.

I’ve been a complete chocoholic for as long as I can remember, & am both pleased & proud that this love of mine has remained intact throughout & beyond my journey from toxic sugar addiction to more natural yet even more delicious alternatives, fueled by my fierce refusal to go without just because my health focus changed. I also won a Great Taste Award for my natural chocolate in 2020 & another for my chocolate truffles in 2025… so all things considered, I think I’m qualified in chocolate.

So, after a lifetime of thoroughly enjoyable research, I settled on 2 different forms of cocoa for by hot chocolate blends; one is a slow-roasted cacao which has maximum flavour & minimum nutrient-snatching phytic acid, & the other is an organic cocoa powder to ensure that the overall drink has a rich, chocolatey flavour that holds its own with the other ingredients.

The addition of bone broth may not be everyone’s choice, yet many people find huge health benefits from adding it to their diet (particularly relating to inflammation, gut health & consequently nutrient absorption, giving countless positive effects on everything from mood to skin).

It can also be useful for those who don’t necessarily want to eat a lot of meat, but find themselves withering on a purely plant-based diet (blood group O’s are particularly prone to this).

The powder I use in this blend is organic, grass-fed & free from hormones, steroids & antibiotics. It’s also unflavoured so you wouldn’t know it’s there.
